PORT ALBERT .
FROM A CORRESPONDENT. Our monthly Band of Hope meeting took place on Tuesday, May 10 th. There was a very good programme, the little folks taking part in the meeting more than they usually do. It would be better for the young men if they would coinejforward and assist at the meetings, if only to show the little ones what they can do, instead of sitting at the back and keeping up a constant chatter. The programme consisted of music by Whnrehine friends; Recitation, Lucy Brohensqire; Speech, Mr G. B. Reid ; Duett, Misses Inger and Grice; Temperance Lesson, (Dr Richardson’s) by Mr Grubb ; Recitations by H. Grice, B. Blackburn and Percy Grice. Great preparations are being made for the Annunl Tea meeting, to be held on the 29 th of this month, in celebration of the arrival of the Albertland settlers. This will be the thirtieth anniversary and the friends are hoping for fine weather as this social gathering always winds up the local meetings for four or five monthe.
