THE BEST THIS SEASON.
AUCKLAND WOOL SALE.
ADVANCE IN PRICES RECORDED.
AUCKLAND, Marell 17. The third Auckland wool sale, held to-night, was the best of the season, prices showing from Id to l£d advance on the second sale in February. There was a representative bench of buyers and competition for the best classes of wools was very keen. Most of the wool went to Bradford and the Continent. Judges of wool stated that, considering the class of the wool offered, the sale was one of the best held in New Zealand this season. Owing to the lateness of the season, much of the wool was seedy. Practically the whole O- the catalogue of 8000 bales was sold. A feature of the sale was the keenness of the buyers, no doubt due to the fact that the New Zealand season is nearing an end, and buyers have their quotas to fill. No range of prices is available to-night. At the next Napier sale there are •only 800 bales to be sold. When this was announced at the sale here tonight, seven buyers said they would go to the sale, but fifteen other buyers said they would not go unless the offering exceeded a thousand bales. Mt. H. T. Milne, chairman of the Wool Buyers’ Association, stated that the association could not stop a sale or prevent members from attending.—(P.A.).
