MOUNTED RIFLES.

CAMP AT SOLWAY GROUNDS. TRAINING FOR APRIL. Arrangements arc at present well in hand for a camp at the Solway Showgrounds which will be attended by the 7th Mounted Rifles (Wellington-East Coast). The camp will be held from April 20 to April 30 and will be attended by 370 men who will be drawn from the district extending from Hastings to Martinborough.

The programme will comprise general training fOl/a few days, followed pro bably by two days’ tactical work on the Tararua foothills, concluding with two days field work and a day’s sports. Anzac Day will fall during the encampment, and tentative proposals are that the regiment should attend a service at the camp and then march to town to participate in the local service at the Soldiers’ Memorial Monument.

The regimental band, with headquarters at Hastings, will also be in

camp. Lieut-Col. A. S. Wilder, D. 5.0.. M.C., will be in command, while Captain V. Sugden, Area Officer, will perform the duties of Adjutant. The camp will be open on the Sun 2ay to visitors.
