WEDDING.

KEMPTON—WOOD. A quiet wedding took place at St. Mark’s Church, Carterton on March 10, when the marriage, was celebrated of Stella, daughter or Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Wood, of Victoria House, Carterton, and Victor Frank, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank V. Kempton, of “Elm Grove,” Greytown. The Rev. W. Baine performed the ceremony. The bride, whd was given away by her father, was attired in a dainty frock of shell pink georgette, trimmed with tiny frills, and a veil of shell-pink tulle, held in place with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of pale pink earnations and maiden-hair fern. The bridesmaid, htisw •Maisie Kempton, sister of the bridegroom, wore a frock of mauve taffeta trimmed with silver lace, and a tulle veil finished with a coronet of silver leaves, and carried a shower bouquet of mauve flowers te tone. The flower 'girl, a cousin of the bride, Miss Ethel Toplin, looked charming in a frock of cream net finished with mauve trimmings, and carried a Victorian posy of mauve and pink flowers. The bride’s mother wore a frock of embossed cyclamen georgette with hat to match, and carried a bouquet of roses. Mrs. F. V. Kempton, mother of the bridegroom, wore a gown of wine shade with hat to match, and also carried a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Mr. Ralph Raynor, a friend of the bridegroom performed the duties of best man.

A reception was afterwards held at Victoria Houke, where the bride and bridegroom and guests were entertained by the mother ef the bride. The happy pair left by car for Auckland, where the honeymoon will be spent. The popularity of the couple was testified by the numerous presents. Their future home will be in Greytown.
