Following are the results of C grade matches played on Saturday between tho Park and Memorial tennis clubs (Park players mentioned first): — Men’s Singles.—Hendry lost to Robertson. 3/9; Pinkney lost to Summers, 0/9; Davey lost to Burnip, 2/9; Candy lost to Marsh, 0/9; Donald lost to Mills, 0/9; Whitton beat Kitchener, 9/0.
Ladies’ Singles.—Mrs. Taylor beat Miss Webb, 6/2; Miss Preston beat Miss Payne, 6/1; Mrs. Vercoe beat Miss Ross, 6/4; Miss Davey beat Miss Scott 6/2; Miss Clifford beat Miss Meikle, 6/3; Mrs. Cruickshank beat Miss Clune, 6/2. Men’s Doubles.—Hendry and Pinkney lost to Summers and Marsh. 2/9; Donald and Whitton beat Mills and Kitchener, 9/5. Ladies’ Doubles: Mrs. Taylor and Miss Davey beat Misses Scott and Webb, 10/8; Mrs. Vercoe and Mrs. Cruickshank beat Misses Payne and Meikle, 9/2; Misses Preston and Clifford lost to Misses Ross and Clune, 6/9.
Combined Doubles.—Hendry and Mrs Vercoe lost to Robertson and Miss Webb, 3/9; Pinkney and Mrs. Taylor beat Summers and Miss Scott, 9/7; Davey and Miss Davey beat Burnip and Miss Meikle, 11/9; Candy and Miss Clifford lost to Marsh and Miss Clune, 7/8; Donald and Miss Preston lost to Mills and Miss Ross; 6/9; Whitton and Mrs. Cruickshank beat Kitchener and Miss Payne, 9/3. CARTERTON BEAT KELBURN. On Saturday a team of eight players from the Kelburn Club journeyed To Carterton and suffered defeat at the hands of the country representatives. The majority of the games were closely contested, running-to three sets, while the final doubles between the leading pairs of the two clubs, Roydhouse and Taverner (Carterton) and Melody and Earle (Rolburn), was of , the Marathon order, ending 6/5, 5/6, 1 12/16, in favour of Carterton. Of the total »of 12 matches, Kelburn won only two singles, Melody defeating Bunny,; and Berry defeating Taverner. In the remaining singles, Booth beat Earle, Roydhouse beat Irons, tJeorge Grant, Steele beat Weston, McKellar beat Steel, and Hall beat McNair. In the doubles, Roydhouse and Taverner beat Melody and Earle; Bun; ■uy and Booth beat Berry and Irons; Steele and McKellar beat Grant and Weston; and Hall and George beat McNair and Steele.
