CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE. PRICES MAINTAINED. SUPER WOOLS ADVANCE id. CHRISTCHURCH, March 14. The fourth and flnal of the Christchurch series of schedule sales for this season was held in the Caledonian Hall to-day. The catalogue comprised 13,040 bales. The wool was somewhat heavy in condition, a natural result of the advanced period of the season, and'a proportion of it contained seed. Most of the fleece wool was from back stations, the offering of crossbred being small in proportion. Carried-over piece lots from previous sales provided a heavy part of the catalogue. The auction was the, best of the year. All the buying countries were represented, and from the start to the finish an excellent tone was maintained. On the last sale in Christchurch the advance on super halfbred wools was equal to Id to 14d a lb, and on crossbred about Id. On the Drfnedin market, which recorded a pronounced advance on preceding values, the super wools were up about whilst crossbred about maintained Dunedin prices. All feelmongering lots showed an advance on both the Dunedin and the last Christchurch sales, the Continental buyers being very keen operators for this class. As a matter of fact not much of it went past them. As an illustration of the healthy tone less than 200 bales was passed at auction out of the total offering of 13,000. The most satisfactory feature of the sale was that all fleece lots in the later stages met with an excited market.
