THE YEAR’S WORK. The annual report of the Masterton Beautifying Society (incorporated) for tho year ending December 31, 1926, to be presented at the annual meeting to-morrow night states:— The end of the fourth year of the society’s activities discloses the fact that its progressive policy has been continued, and that your executive and Indies’ committee have displayed that enthusiasm which made for success, and which has again been rewarded by the splendid response of the publio of Masterton. Tho committee held fourteen meetings during the year, the meetings being well attended and marked by keen interest in the wprk undertaken. « ■ ACQUISITION OF SOUTH PARK. The most important undertaking was the acquisition of South Park. This open space comprises five acres of land, and was purchased by the society in conjunction with the Masterton Borough Council and the residents of Kuripuni.
