Some of the Liberal newspapers of the Dominion are discussing the possibility of reorganising the Liberal Party end abandoning the present name of National Party. The alteration in the name of the party two years ago is known to have been strongly opposed in some parts of the Dominion, particularly in Auckland, where a section of the followers of the old party still retains the former title end continues its organisation as before. It is suggested that the proposals for the readoption of the old title of the party emanate from this source. The Auckland “Star” is advised that Northern promoters of the new movement are scid to be anxious to place themselves under the leadership of Sir Joseph Ward. Failing Sir Joseph, Mr. W. A. Veitch, member for Wanganui, is spoken of as a possible Liberal leader. Piano for sale. Two Orion ranges for sale. Five-seater Ford for sale. Morris Oxford ear for sale. Five-roomed house to let. Harvest thanksgiving services will be conducted by Rev. W. Beckett and Mr. A. J. Daysh at Kuripuni to-morrow and on Monday evening. The Federal Land, Estate and Fin ance Agency insert brief particulars oi a few selected properties for sale at attractive prices. A general meeting of Old Boys Football Club will be held at the Wairarapa High School at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday next.
Mr. Norman H. James, land and estate agent, advertises for sale on page eight, several attractive bungalows which are well worth perusal.
In to-day’s issue the) Railway Department advertise cheap fares and train arrangements in connection with the races at Trentham on 17th and 19th March.
A Sunday School is to be held at Rangitumau on Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, in tho Church, and the usual Chtirch service at 2.30 p.m., conducted by Rev. W. Beekett.
Attention is drawn in the Church Service Notices, of the harvest festival to be held on Sunday at the Kuripuni Methodist Church. Produce is asked to be left at tho Church this afternoon. Mr. W. S. Heaps advertises several little-used second-hand cars which he is prepared to dispose of at low prices and take over purchasers’ old cars. Inspection is also invited of all the new models of Hupmobile cars which are now to hand.
