In our list were some particularly good lines of 4-th., 6-th. and 4-year old ewes, the best of which were offered on account of Mr. R. O. Smith, these were early shorn sheep bearing ages marks true to 1 description, all of which met with keen i competition. Other principle vendors were 5 year ewes ex Rawhiti, and 4 year ewes (late shorn) ex Kahaumingi. The sale for inferior lots was a comparison with last sale’s report, hut on medium lots the demand was slower than at last sale, it being quite evident that the bulk of the enquiries for breeding ewes has been filled. A good number of shearling' Southdown rams sold readily at prices ranging up to 8 gns. We report: 177 4-th. ewes ex.
