AT BLENHEIM. ARDFINNAN WINS B£G EVENT. BLENHEIM, March 5. The second day of the Marlborough Racing Club’s summer meeting was held in ideal weather conditions. There was a very large attendance. The course was in good order. The totalisator handled £14,127 as compared with £12,543 the same day last year. Results: Trial Stakes.—3, Exhibition (G. Ridgway) 7.12, 1; 1, Silver Cord 2; 6, Berinda 3. Won by a short head and three quarters of a length between second and third. Time 1.17 1-5.
Springlands Trot.—7, Black Cloud (N. R. Kearns) 1; 1, Vikota 2; 8, Jim Beldan 3. Won by three quarters of a length, two lengths between second and third. Time 2.18 2-5. Presidents Handicap.—3, Ardlinnan (C. Goldsboro) 8.5, 1; 2, Goosestep 9.7, 2; 8, Gardant 7*l, 3. Won by half a length each way. Time 1.44 4-5.
