WIRELESS IN HOSPITAL
THE AUCKLAND SCHEME. AUCKLAND, March 5. The scheme for the" equipping of the Auckland Hospital with wireless so that all the patients will be able to listen-in is now well advanced. An appeal is be|ng made to raise £3500 to complete t))c work. The proposal is to equip each bed in the hospital with a. set of headphones so that each patient will be able to listen-in without any disturbance to his neighbour. An exception is being made in the infectious diseases ward, where a loud speaker will be installed.
The X-ray equipment in the Wallace Ward will necessitate the use of special equipment to avoid interference ia the Wallace Ward, and the installation in this section will cost £lOO extra. The beds in the women’s ward in the main building have already been equipped with headphones, and the equipment will be tested on Tuesday evening.—(P.A.)
