SATURDAYS RESULTS.
UNITED BEAT MARTINBOROUGH. GOOD PERFORMANCE BY OLD BOYS. The match between United and Mar'tinborough resulted as anticipated. With 347 runs against them the southern team completed their first innings for 127, and followed cyi, but their second attempt, with oniy eight men, realised only 55, United thus winning by an innings and 165 runs. The match between Featherston and Old Boys, commenced the previous Saturday at Featherston, was concluded at Masterton to allow the Feathersi on team to attend the Royal celebrations. With one run down on the first innings, Featherston continued their second innings and with 22 on the board and eight wickets down they decided to take a sporting chance and declare. Gundy, who was 38 not out from the previous week, carried his score to 110, while Crfiwford contributed a useful 24. Old Boys went to their task with a will, and, Ratting in rare form, they .gained the required runs with the loss of only two wickets, the principal scorers being Gee 150 nof out, Logan 24 and Uttley 30. Old Boys thus won by eight jvickets. JUNIORS. Carterton 202 (Berry 10, Ticehurst 43, Matson 20, Bannin 18,' Philpotts 14, Ellis 10 Milner 19, Woodham 27), defeated United 112 (Curtis 37, Miller 27, Barton 12, Williams 10). Druids 224 (James 96, Sayers 52, Wilson 35). Bowling: Traff 3/33. High School 114 (Falloon not out 26), Bowling: Fairbrother 7/57. , Old Boys 28 and 65 drew with Greytewn 26 and 67. THIRD GRADE. W.F.C.A. 105 (Petersen 50, Devine 22) beat United 85 (Johansen 24, Fear 36).. WELLINGTON RESULTS. WELLINGTON, Marell 6. The cricket was continued yesterday in perfect weather.
