SUCCESSFUL PICNIC AND SPORTS.
LIST OF RESULTS. Weather conditions were ideal for the annual picnic of the Solway School at the Showgrounds on Saturday. The major part of the day was spent' in holding a series of sports events, some very closely contested, some most amusii g, but all entirely enjoyable. It must have been most gratifying to the' School Committee and its assistants to sec- how much pleasure old and young extracted from a day spent out of doors in. such charming surroundings. Thanks to all contributors to the picnic fund* to donors of prizes, of sweets, : 'ruit, etc., and to the willing helpers who had aided both in the grounds and lui'iid the lunch benches, were expressed by the (hairman of the committee (Mr. Jackson) after the distribution of prizes to the’'winners.
