KOPUARANGA SCHOOL.

THE ANNUAL PICNIC. (“The Age” Special). The annual picnic of the above school was held on .Saturday in a paddock kindly lent, by Mt. R. D. McKenzie, chairman of the School Committee. There was a full attendance of the children who, with parents and friends, made a record gathering. Justice was done with the good things provided, through the usual generosity of the parents and settlers of the district, to whom the committee is much indebted. A programme of sports was staged, far which, substantial prizes were given. Mr. Clarke senr. acted as starter and Mr. J. Clarke as handicapper. Junior Pole Vault.—D. Armstrong 1, G. McKenzie 2. In the evening a ping-pong tournament was held in the Hall, where a large gathering assembled. Supper was dispensed by the ladies.
