AN IMPORTANT STATEMENT.
(Received Monday, 8.40 p.m.) CORINTO (Nicaragua), Feb. 28. “If necessary, Britain will be tho first nation to recognise the Diaz Government after the United States,” the British Charge d’Affaires declared after a conference with Captain Lecky, Commander of the British cruiser Colombo.
