OFFENDING MOTORISTS.
TRAFFIC BY-LAWS BROKEN. Thomas Stuart Kilpatrick for negligently driving a motor lorry in Queen Street, was fined 40s and 10s costs in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Reuben Reeves, baker,-for driving his car on the wrong side of the road, pleaded guilty, and was fined 10s and 10s costs. The case arose out of a col lision with a Maori motor cyclist. Mr J. Macfariane Laing, for, the defend-* ant pointed out that the incident took place on a Sunday morning when there was practically no traffic about, and that the collision with the Maori was not in any way a serious matter as otherwise the police would have been
charging the defendant with negligent driving. ,
F. A. 'Stains', a merry-go-round proprietor, for operating a motor lorry without having a heavy traffic license, was fined £1 and costs.
Frank S. Welfare, a boy who was driving the .merry-go-round lorry, was convicted and ordered to pay costs. Walter Andrews, for using a motor lorry in the 'Masterton County without a heavy traffic license, was fined 40s and costs.
