MASTERTON SALE. The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Lt., report: We submitted a good entry of sheep to a good
attendance of buyers. Prices wen easier for lambs, but all other classes of stock sold at recent rates. We dis-
posed of the whole of our entry under tl'.e hammer at the • following prices:
5-year ewes, 13/6, 13/8, 14/, 14/6, 19/9 to 16/6; 2-th ewes, 21/, 21/9 to 23/6;
2-th wethers, 17/5, 18/, 20/ to 21/6; med. b.f. lambs, 12/4, 12/8, 13/3 to 14/; w.f. shorn lambs, 12/, 12/8; w.f. woolly lambs, 12/, 12/6, 13/3 to 13/10.
Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: The biggest entry of sheep yarded so far this year came forward yesterday. There was a very large attendance of buyers, and there was a good enquiry for all classes of stock. Ewee sold at advanced prices, and wethers and lambs sold at .prices on a par with late rates. We made a clearance at the following prices: 2-th ewes, 24/ to 27/; 2-th ewes (small), 20/ to 21/; 4 and 5-year ewes, 16/ to 20/; m.a. ewes, 12/3; rape lambs, 17/ to 18/2; small b.f lambs, 13/6. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: A very full yarding was submitted to a large attendance of buyers. Our portion of the entry comprised 4500 ewes, the bulk of which were of good quality, and competition was keen throughout the sale with a total’ clearance at the following prices: Account J. P. Perry, ‘ ©Sulphur Wells,” 300 4-year ewes, 23/; 204 5-year ewes at 17/. Account Tikitapu Estate, 4 and 6-th ewes, 24/6; 371 5-year ewes, 17/3; 357 do., 18/6. Account O. A. Bunny, “Maringi,” 935 4 and 5-year ewes, 16/8 to 16/10. Account C. >S. Taylor, 254 5 and 5-year ewes, 15/9. Account E. W. Bunny, 323 5-year ewes, 14/4; 182 2-th ewes .19/; 88 2-th wethers, 20/. Account Glencrieff Estate, 705 5-year owes, 15/1 to 15/6. Account H. J. W. Lord, 273 4 and 5-year ewes, 16/3. Rougher sorts made from 9/6 to 13/10.
The W.F.C.A. Ltd., report: We offered a very heavy yarding of all classes of sheep to a large attendance of buyers representative of all parts of the district. Included in the offering were some first-class lines of breeding ewes, especially those from J. S. Holmes (Matahiwi Estate), N. Pinhey Estate, and Mataikona Station. The demand for best lines of ewes was particularly keen; the prices obtained being the best paid at any sales held this year. We yarded 6800 head and report a good clearance. Wo also had a few pens of fat and forward cows which realised good sales rates. At tho conclusion of the stock sale wo disposed of, on account N. A. Pinhey Estate, sundries, vehicles, etc., which made good values. We report: Account J. S. Holmes, 150 2-th ewes, 27/; 114 do, 25/. Account Estate late N. Pinhey, 118 2-th ewes, 25/. Pinhey, 23/6, 69 4 and 6-th ewes, 22/9; 188 6-th to 4year ewes, on account J. S.
