“One of the most successful events of the summer season,” was the verdict of those present at the Featherston Athletic Club’s sports on Saturday. There was a record attendance. All the events were .excellently arranged and the ladies’ committee under Miss Card deserves special mention for its management of the refreshments. The numerous side shows attaractod an unusually largo number of people, while the weather was all that could be desired. The various events resulted:— 100 yards Men’s Handicap (maiden). -—N. GOOD JUMPING. BRODY CLEARS SIX FEET. WELLINGTON, February 20. A remarkably fine performance was put up in the high jump at the Olympic Club’s sports meeting yesterday. Brody end Sceats both cleared sft. 104inSw The former then went on to achieve six feet which is the best jump ever recorded by a New Zealander in New Zealand. The Australian, record is 6ft Ilins., made by Kelly, of Victoria (P.A.).
