DAIRY PRODUCE.
Messrs Dalgcty and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated February If (last week’s quotations shown in parentheses):— Butter: Danish butter market weaker; f.o.b. prices now 186/. New Zealand market continues neglected, with stocks accumulating. We quote nominally: Danish, 192/ (188/); Now Zealand finest, 176/ (174/); first grade, .174/ (172/); Australian finest unsalted, 170/ to 172/ (170/ to 172/); salted, 164/ to 168/ 164/ to 168/). Cheese: Market slow. We quote Now Zealand finest, white, 92/ (94/); coloured, 92/ (95/); first grade,, white, 91/ (93/); coloured, 91/ (93/); coloured, (93/); coloured 91/ (94/); spot price for Canadian white and coloured, 96/ to 100/ (96/ to 100/).
Total imports of butter into United Kingdom last month were 476,000 ewts., as compared with 673,000 ewts. for the corresponding period last year.
FROZEN MEAT. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents dated February 18: C-wing to fogs vessels are held up and consequently present quotations are only nominal. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the fallowing cablegram from their London house, dated February 17: Since our last week’s report prices are unchanged, but there is a better demand for New Zealand mutton and beef owing to temporary delap 'n arrive r:' chilled SMITHFIELD PRICES. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated February 18, advising Smithfield delivered prices at that date as follows: — New Zealand ewes: (old season, u/64, 4d. New Zealand lambs: Canterbury quality (old season), u/36, 9 7-8 d; 37/ 42, B}d; 43/50, 7 l-Bd. New Zealand beef: Ox fores, 3Jd; hinds, 4d. Argentine chilled beef: Ox fores, 4d; hinds, 6 3-Bd. Argentine frozen beef: Ox fores, 5-]d; hinds, 4d. Frozen pork: 80/120 lbs, 7}d; 120/ 180 lbs, 71d. Lamb and wether prices nominal at about last week’s values. Quantity available not sufficient to quote owing to delay of carrying steamers. Ewes steady, but demand is only limited. Chilled beef: There was curtainmelt of supplies this week owing to several carrying steamers being fog-bound. Large supplies will be landed next week.
