COMMERCIAL CLASSES.
AT ST. BRIDE’S CONVENT. A YEAR’S RESULTS. St. Bride’s Convent successes published below are the result of a year’s work in the commercial classes. The total passes number 144, comprising shorthand, 74;
bookkeeping, 40; typewriting, 30. The following remarks of the examiners tell of the standard attained:—
“The work submitted, in all sections, whether considered from a practical or theoretical standpoint, was. very much above the average, and this is the reason why each pupil has gained such a high percentage of marks. The instructions you arc giving in your business department are certainly of a very high, order, and we feel sure that the excellent training you are giving these girls cannot fail to have a very important bearing upon their future career.” One of the cadidates, Miss Dorothy MacPhail, eclipsed all previous attainments by securing 100 per cent, for intermediate typewriting, whilst Miss Peggie Gee was awarded a gold medal ,by the National Business College examiners for excellence in bookkeeping and typewriting.
