LAMB IN DUNEDIN. WINS TWO EVENTS. DUNEDIN, February 19. The appearance of R. W. Lamb (Victoria) and F. J. Grose (New Zealand) in the cycling events at the Otago Centre ’s sports to-day proved a good draw. Lamb won the half mile and three mile races with electrifying sprints. In the half mile Grose looked a winner in the last lap, but a 50 yards’ sprint by Lamb put him a wheel ahead of the New Zealander. The time was 1.17. Lamb won his heat in the mile by 20 yards in 2.23 2-5, but in the final was beaten by Fraser (170yds), in 2.24 4-5. Grose was tliird. In the three miles Lamb went away at the home turn in an excellent sprint and won by eight lengths in 7.41 2-5. Grose, broke a pedal in the last lap.— (i'-A.).
