A satisfactory settlement of the New South Wales colliery dispute has been reached, a Sydney message reports, and the pits will re-open on Monday. Against strong opposition by President Coolidge, the United States Congress has passed a Bill involving an appropriation of 250 million dollars to assist agricultural co-operative organisations through the Federal Farm Board; which will regulate the marketing of surplus products. Tho measure has been pushed through by an active and forceful agricultural bloc in both Houses, disregarding for the most part the usual party linos. The contest over the Bill (which the President is expected to veto) is likely to entail r.erious political consequences.
