MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS IN APRIL
EARLY APPLICATION NECESSARY.
Electors that the Supplementary Roll for the forthcoming municipal elections in April will close on March 31. Forms of enrolment may bo obtained at the Municipal office, or the Town Clerk will forward forms on request to anyone unable to call.
Few additions were made to the Alain Roll, which closed on January 31, but
a large number of names were removed. A point that needs emphasising is that the Alunicipal Roll is compiled quite indcpcndentlp o fthe Parliamentary Roll, and the fact that a voter’s name appears on the lai ter does not ensure its inclusion in the municipal list. At
the polling booths to record their votes, but find upon arrival that their names are not included on the roll. In the great majority of eases this is due to the mistaken belief that the Parliamentary list is used in compiling the Alunicipal Roll. The obvious remedy is to inspect the roll prior to the date — March 31 —on which it is to be finally I closed.
