The engagement is announced of Miss Dorothy Howard, of Birmingham, England, to Mr. John Hirschberg. of Masterton. .
Sergeant Duke (Wellington) arrives this morning to take charge of the Masterton Police Station during the absence of Sergeant Dyer. Sergeant Dyer and Constable Smith, both of Masterton, who have been included in the special bodyguard of eighty police to accompany tho Duke and Duchess of York in their tour of New Zealand, leave Masterton to-day for Wellington.
