A DISTINGUISHED ACTOR.
ARTHUR BOURCHIER TO TOUR AUSTRALIA. LONDON, February 15. Arthur Bourchier, with the Treasure Island Company, sails for >South Africa on February 18. He will also tour Australia, during an absence of two years. The plays include “At the Villa Rose” and Frederick Lonsdale’s “The Fake.” Mr. Arthur Bourchier, who was born in 1864, has had a very distinguished stage career since the late ’eighties. In later years ho created Ohl Bill in the play “The Better ’Ole” and Long John Silver in Bernard Fagan’s adaptation of Stevenson’s “Treasure Island.” He married Miss Violet Vanbrugh, sister of Miss Irene Vanbrugh, who toured New Zealand at the end of 1925.—(A. and N.Z.).
