MEETING OF WEST SCHOOL COMMITTEE. ' LIFE-SA VING DEMONSTRATION. A meeting of the Masterton West School Committee was held last evening. There- were present: Messrs J. V. Gordon (chairman), A. C. Mvl)iarmi<\ H E. Davis. J. J. MeLeary, J. A. Rus J. L. Hughes, H. S. Loudon and Mr. H. Miller (headmaster\. Accounts totalling £7 19s 6d werepassed for payment. The committee confirmed the action of the headmaster in arranging hours for the use of the baths by pupite of Si. Matthew'*s Collegiate School for Girls. Arrangements are to be made for the attendant*© of children of various schools to a life-saving demoastration to bo performed by members of the Maranui Life-Saving Club on February 22 at 2 p.m. School children will b<* admitted free and adults will be ask tn! to contribute towards the cost of tho visiting team’s expenses. Mats arc to be procured for the side school. It* was decided to lay gas on to tho side school for the purpose of supplying a light in tho main room and a gas ring. I'aths wcic dealt vith.
