AMUSEMENTS.
OPERA HOUSE. There are probably no two faces as welcome on tli? motion picture screens of the, -world as those of our old friends, Potash and Perlmutter, or to refer to their actual earthly identities, George Sidney and Alexander Carr. It will no doubt be welcome news to the patrons of the Opera. House that the manager has succeeded in securing the local showing of the latest Samuel Goldwyn picturisation of Montagne Glass stage successes, “Partners Again,” with Potash and Perlmutter.” It comes to the Opera House on Wednesday. The picture is released by United Artists Corporation. The vitriolic partners have hitherto dabbled in prosaic “Cloak and Suits” business. From that, they took a flyer in motion picture production, but now we them, in “Partners Again,” enjoying and suffering the experiences of automobile dealers. Of course, it would not. be so bad if they had a reputable car to handle. Potash, however, survives the nervous breakdowns occasioned by his plunge into this impossible business, and is able to furnish even more laughs after the collapse of the business, by an impromptu airplane ride he takes involuntarily. Favourite supporting programme. Box plan at Henderson’s.
COSY THEATRE. Again to-night at the Cosy Theatre will be presented the splendid two feature programme, which scored such a hit on Saturday ' night and again on Monday night. Edmund Lowe appears in “Greater Than a Crown.” The story is replete with action, starting off with a couple of encounters that are veritable “wows,” and continuing at nigh tempo to a rousing and unexpected climax. Altogether, this Roy Neill presentation provides just the sort of entertainment to lift the cares from the tired business man’s shoulders and take him into the land of romance and dreams-eomc-true. “The Boy Friend” is the other star item. It is a delicious cocktail made with the wine of youth, a sparkling concoction of laughs and heart-thrills, a merrily moving story of a boy friend and girl friends and their happy hours together; a sparking comedy with a lingering appeal. Reserves at Henderson’s.
