STEEL TRUST RUPTURE AVERTED.
RESIGNATIONS WITHDRAWNPRODUCTION TO BE REDUCED. (Received Friday, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, February 11. The threatened rupture of the steel trust formed by French, German, Belgian and Luxemburg magnates has been averted by the withdrawal of the German resignations and the prevision, of the quotas, whereby Germany will pay less to tie common compensation fund, but is promising, to limit her exports to France. The general policy is to cut down production in order to combat a world tendency toward lower prices. There is now a belief that Britain may soon be persuaded to enter the cartel.—(A. and N.Z.)
