PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. REST ROOM AT THE SHOW. A meeting of the committee of tho Masterton branch of the Plunket Society was held on Thursday. There were present: Mesdames W. Bullock (chairwoman), F. W. Martin, fl. E. Davis, J. Kane, T. Jordan, H. H. Dawson, G. H. Uttley, T. Wardell, R. Judd, R. Drummond, J. Caselbcrg, T. F. Watson, H. H. Daniell and G. J. Goldsman. Apologies were received from Mesdalies R. F. Beetham, J. Cocker, J. W. McLean, H. A. Cunningham, J. M. Coradine, A. C. McDiapnid and L. IL Maun sell. The nurse’s report for January was as follows: Visits to office, 406; visits to homes, 117; emulsion sold, 251 b. Kopuaranga, Mauriceville and Tinui were visited twice during the month, and Castlepoint once. The rooms will be open in future every afternoon (except Saturday), and also on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 10 to noon. Arrangements were made for the nurses and helpers to be in attendance at the rest room at the Solway showgrounds on People’s Day at the forthcoming show. Accounts totalling £45 3s 9d wore passed. Gifts of babies ’ clothing were acknowledged as follows: Mesdames R. Miller and W. Bullock and Misses Farrar and Ninnes. KARITANE APPEAL. Yesterday Mr. J. E. Winsloe, organiser for the Royal Visit Plunket Karitane appeal and Mrs. Nicolaus, assistant organiser, met members of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society regarding a special appeal being made for funds, so as to free the Karitane Home in Wellington from debt before the opening of the home by the Duchess of York. The form of the appeal in this district has not vet been decided upon.
