MEETING COMMENCES AT AUCKLAND. OAKLEY PLACED IN HEATS. POINTS FOR INTER-PROVINCIAL TROPHIES. AUCKLAND, February 11. The New Zealand Amateur Athletic and Cycling Championship meeting was commenced at fhe Domain this afternoon. The track was in good order and drying after rain on Thursday, while there was a. slight breeze. Results:— Three mile championship.—Savidan (Auckland) 1, Kells (Auckland) 2, Brown (Auckland) 3. Also started: Priestley (Wellington). Savidan took the load early. Priestly made a good effort soon after the eighth lap was entered bub collapsed and withdrew. Savidan won easily by 120 yards. Timo 15mins. Saecs. 440 yards Ladies’ Relay Championship.—Wellington (Misses Porter, Collins, Manton, and Swinburne) 1. The only competitors. Time, 53 3-ssecs.
