PERSONAL.
The general committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association yesterday passed votes of condolence with two members of the association, Mr. John McMaster, and Mrs. T. Rayner, who have recently suffered bereavement.
The engagement is announced of Lucy Verne, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Wilkinson, Hinaburn, Western Lake, Featherston, to Guy William, second son of Mr. and Mrs A do B. Brandon, Hobson Street. Wellington.
Constable J. Garbutt, who has been court orderly at the Magistrate’s Court in Dunedin for the past five years, has received notification of his appointment as probation officer in the Prisons Department at Dunedin. Constable Garbutt joined the police force in England and has been in tli£ New Zealand police force for a period of over sixteen years, serving at Wellington and Dunedin. He will commence his new duties on March I.—(P.A.).
