GOLF COUNCIL MEETS.
KIRK-WINDEYER CUP. APPOINTMENT OF ASSOCIATION’S PROFESSIONAL. WELLINGTON, February 8. The New Zealand Golf Council met on February 7. Mr. Lindsay Ross’s resignation as association professional was accepted, he having accepted a position as professional to the Hutt Club. Mr. J. Lambie was appointed in his stead. In coninection. with the Kirk-Win-deyer Cup, Australian advice received stated that the New South Wales Stata championships would commence in June. Four inter-State matches will be played just before or after. The challenge trophy for this latter is being presented by R. C. Kirk and Windeyer. It was resolved to recommend that the four , miniatures each year should be provided by the association of the State in which the competition is th it year played—(P.A.)
