MONTHLY MEETING. ARRANGEMENTS FOR GARDEN PARTY. “«. i-w. ■ ■ ■ ’ The monthly meeting of the Methodist Ladies’ Guild was held in the Schoolroom yesterday afternoon. There was a good attendance of members, Mrs. Beckett (president) being in the chair. A motion of sympathy was passed to Mrs. H. Vibert and Mrs. Vibert senr., in their sad bereavement, and to Mrs. Neilson, who had recently suffered bereavement. Final arrangements were made for the garden party, to be hold at Mrs. Elliott’s residence, Columba Road, on Saturday next. Stall-holders were appointed as follows: Plain work, Mesdames Miller, Freeman and Miss Jackson; cakes, Mesdames Handyside, Thomas, Williams, Russell and Cameron; sweets, young ladies of the senior and junior Bible classes; produce, Miss Donald, Mesdames Blinkhorne, E. Judd find W. Judd; ice-cream and soft drinks Mesdames Sleeman and Nicholson; afternoon tea, Mesdames Mclver, Trevorar, White and Drew. Games of tennis will be arranged by members of the Young Men’s Bible Class who will be in charge of the tennis courts. If the weather should prove unfavourable a fair will be held in the schoolroom. The next meeting of the guild will be held on March 8. This meeting will take the form of a musical afternoon.
