MEDICAL CONFERENCE.
VARIOUS ADDRESSES. COLLEGE OF SURGEONS FOUNDED. DUNEDIN, February 7. At the medical congress to-day Dr. Oliver Latham (Sydney) delivered an address on Neurology and Psychiatry, outlining research work that had been conducted in his laboratory.. Mr. John Bostock (New South Wales) dealt with the causes of various forms of mental disorder. Dr. Prior and A. L. McKenna, both of Parramatta, described the condition of a number of patients in the Parramatta Hospital for the insane, in whom sepsis associated with glandular deficiency was obviously the cause o their fcondition. Dr. North (Now South Wales) dealt with the same subject. In the course of discussion, Dr. MacPherson threw cold water on the work of laboratories associated with mental hospitals. Dr. Argyle delivered an interesting address cn the progress of Radiology. A meeting of the founders of the College of Surgeons of Australasia was held at the Medical School on Satur-
day. At this meeting actions were taken to form a college by various meetings of delegates of surgeons in Australia and New Zealand, and a provisional executive committee, which they appointed, was confirmed with a few minor amendments, and the college is now constituted. —(P.A.).
