The death is reported of Francis Grainger, better known as Headon Hill, tho novelist.
.Miss A. Bary, who was detained in Blenheim owing to the .'ilness of her brother, returns to Masterton this morning.
A Washington message reports tho appointment of an American Minister tj Dublin of Mr. Frederick A. Sterling to Dublin. Mr. Sterling was born at St. Louis, Mo., in 1876. Since 1911 he has been in the American diplomatic service at Petrograd, Pekin, Lima, Paris and London.
