Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram irom their London house, dated February 2: I Wool sales closed firm and active, with briswk competition. French buyers operating freely, Gorman buyers less active; Home trade buying steadily. As compared with last sales, good scoured merino Id to 2d higher; other descriptions scoured merino, par to I’d higher; good greasy merino, Id to I’d higher; other descriptions greasy merjino, par to Id higher; greasy half-bred ■ Id to Ijd higher; greasy fine crossbred, id to Id higher; greasy medium and ; coarse crossbred, par to Id higher; pieces, 4d to Id higherscoured erbss--1 bred, unchanged; slipc, par to Id higher; lambs, Id to Ijd higher. Offer-' cd, 123,966 hales, sold 103,000 bales.
Continent have bought 56,500 bales, Home trade 43,500, America 3000, carried forward 25,500, of which 12,000 bales were not offered. The following is the range of prices:— Half bred, 56/58, good to super, 22|d to 25AcJ, low to medium 18 Jd to 21jd; half bred 50/56, good to super 20d to 23d, low to medium 17d to 19d; fine crossbred, 48/50, good to super 16Ad to 194 d, low to medium 14‘d to 16d; fine crossbred, 46/48, good to super 15$ d to 174 d, low to medium 131 d to 15d; crossbred, 44/46, good to super 14$d to 16d, low tot medium 12Id to 14d; crossbred, 40/44, good to super 14d to Isd, low to medium llld to 13« d; coarse crossbred, 36/40, good to super 13d to 14d, low to medium lid to 12id. TALLOW SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency/Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, dated February 2:— We quote present c.i.f. and c. values for the following descriptions of tallow.—Fine mutton, 37/6 per cwt; good beef, 38/-; mixed, 37/-. Market quiet. DAIRY PRODUCE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. have received the following cablegram from their London house, dated February 2:—Butter.—New Zealand, quotations unchanged (172/- to 174/-). Good demand (for) stored. Controlled neglected.
