COURT ACTION IN QUEENSLAND
UNIONS DEREGISTERED. FOR REFUSING TO TAKE BALLOT. BRISBANE, February 4. A mass meeting of building trade employees decided by an overwhelming majority against submitting tho question of returning to work to a ballot as suggested by the president of the Board of Trade yesterday. When the decision was announced to the Arbitration Court, Mr. Justice Webb announced that the Court had decided to cancel tho registration of unions defying tho Court, but in justice to unions observing the award, the Court would allow the award to stand. The Court was crowded and there were disorderly scenes after the judgment was delivered, a section of the crowd singing “The Red Flag” and greeting the employers’ representatives as they entered with ironical cheers, while the employees' representatives were cheered lustily. As the members of the Bench entered they were greeted with cries of 4 4 Make way for the masters.'’
After the result of the mass meeting was communicated to the Bench, the Court adjourned while it considered its verdict. A babel then again broke Icose, the crowd shouting, whistling, and singing revolutionary songs. Altogether four unions were deregistered. -(P.A.).
