THE BOROUGH STAFF.

The question of the reorganisation of the office staff of the Masterton Borough Council was considered at a special meeting on Tuesday evening. It is understood that important changes (unofficially outlined in another column) are in contemplation. Whether these will involve increased chargea upon the ratepayers has not yet transpired. It is the duty of His Worship the Mayor to take the people fully into his confidence in this matter. He should make a clear statement of what the salaries have been in the past, and what they will bo under the new arrangement. It would also be of interest to the ratepayers to know how the administrative charges of Masterton compare with those of other townships of a similar size in the Dominion.
