Professor Bryan, in addressing the Aeronautical Engineers prophesied that in a few years' time there will be an hotel at the North Polo, says the Glasgow Herald. It takes : one's breath away to think of it, but there is very little doubt that the airship is going to take us to many places hitherto written off as inaccessible. When labour troubles have subsided and prices get stabilised, clever men will start about making things business propositions, and there is going to be a great deal of lung business done by airship. Kipling's idea was lung crius-, ing in the upper altitudes, but at present that promises to be an expensive kind of cure. Mr. "Victor Beck has received cabled advice of the death at Melbourne yesterday of Mr. Bob Thomas, of the firm of Will and Bob Thomas, the pioneers of the English pierrots, who have been frequent visitors to the Dominion during the past ten years. He had been in ill-heMth for some time past.
