(By Telegraph—Picas Association.) TAUMARUNUI, Last Night. A Hindu named Munda Earn was sentenced to three months' imprisonment for breaking a telephone wiro near Waimarino prison camp. He was also committed for trial for breaking and entering and stealing clothing and money from Fanthorpe's at Taumarunui, and money from the Waimarino railway station.
PALMERSTON COURT CASES.
PALMERSTON N., Last Night. In the Magistrate's Court Henry John Frame, a young man, was committed for indecent assault on a girl 12 years of ago. George Bernard, a cook at Trontham Camp, was convicted for failure to provide maintenance for his wife, and was ordered to come up for sentence if called on. Counsel for complainant said Bernard married in England, and deserted liis wife the day after arrival in the Dominion. The Magistrate also ordered defendant's gratuity, in the hands of the Patriotic Society, which had been supporting complainant, to be paid into Court towards the arrears of maintenance, and the balance as security for further maintenance.
