Mr. Walter Minettj who was well known ia Wairarapa Bugby, football v ■■■'■£ few years ago, will shortly leave Pahiatua to again take'up his residence in Masterton. . Mr. Jacob Dannefaerd, of Rotorua, - died on Saturday morning from pneumonia, aged 66 years. He was a member of ir noble Danish family, was a celebrated naturalist, a prominent member of the Masonic Order, and was formerly president of the Botorua Bowling Club. * The death took place at ChristoJhurch , on Tuesday of the Bev. J. L. Mortimer, after several months' illnesß. The deceased was born ; in Christchurch, and eSucated in England. He held curacies in England at. Wall send, Sleet, and Upton Park (London), arid returned to Christchurch in 1911 as assistant curate to the Rev. Canon Burton, of Bt, Michael Afterwards he Was the first vicar of St. Stephen's, Shirley, and in 1915 he was appointed vicar of St. Peter's, Caversham. His father was tho first vicar of St. Matthew 'a, St. Albans. The Greytown Presbyterian Sunday School was packed to its utmost on Friday evening, on the occasion .of tho opportunity afforded the townsfolk of bidding farewell to Mr. W. Grundy, after four years of labour in tho Grey-town-Morison Bush Presbyterian charge. Every denomination was represented, alaq the various local bodies, and apologies were received 1 for the unavoidable absence of the Be vs. A. W. H. Coiftpton and K, B. Gosncll. The BeV. J. McGregor, Martingorough, as Moderato?.of the Presbytery, occupied the chair, and, on behalf of the ; Presbytery, wished Mr. Grundy every success. in his. ; new sphere of labour. The Mayor pf Greytown (Mr. A. - Hutton) ' and the Bevs. p. J. Tipler (Carterton) and E. H. Catherwood (Featherston) also paid tribute to the work of Mr. Grundy.
