COOL DRINKS
RASPBERRY OR LOGANBERRY VINEGAR Put, lib of berries in a basin, and after pouring over them a pint of vinegar, allow to lie for two or three days with a cover over the basin. Then draiin through a jellly-bga without pressing the fruit. To each pint of juco (two breakfastcupfiils) allow lslb. of cane sugar. Bring the juce and migar to the boil. The liquid when cold is bottled for use. This beverage is used in the proportion of one tablespoon to each glass of water.
ORANGEADE. \
Take the rind and juce of two oranges and put them in a large jug with ilb. of loaf sugar. Pour over eight brckafastcupfuls of boiling water, and when cold add two ounces cf cream of tartar, atiring it well in. Bottle the liquid after it has been strained and allowed to get cold. LEMONADE/" There is nothing so acceptable "in summer as a glass of home made lemonade. This is a good reliable recipe. Ingredients; 4 lemons, 1 qurat boiling;water, and 2oz. of lump sugar Peel the lemons very thinly, and put the rind at once, into a jug, having removed as much of the "white pith as possible, for this gives the bitter taste which spoils some lemonades. Cut the lemons in thin slices^' taking out the pips; add to the rinds,-and pour the boiling water over. Then strain off the lemon; pressing each piece of lemon well, and serve with a slice of lemon floating in it.
