Miss Molly Matheson, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. B. Matheson, of Rongomai, underwent an operation for appendicitis in a private hospital in Pah'iatua last week. The many friends of the family will be pleased to know the operation was successful, and will wish the little patient a speedy recovery.

A pleasant little function was held at Longbush last week, as a farewell to Mr and Mrs J. Bannister, who intend leaving the district. During the course*of the evening, the guests of honour were presented by the" settlers with a beautiful silver tea.service. Dancing was kept up until au early hour of the morning, and a most enjoyable time was spent.
