FOOTBALL
THE LIBERAL CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Liberal Football Club was held in Feather stoh on Thursday last, when the following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr A/ C. Holms; president, Mr JV W. Henderson;; vice-presidents, Messrs J: A. McCarty, G. Hyland/ L. T. Cobcroft, M. H. Kendall, Q. Donald, and A. F. Wickens; hon. secretary, Mr J. Roche; hon. auditor, Mr A. Mcln-, tyre; committee, Messrs Q. Donald, junf., J. Donald, C. Howie, J. Elliott, and E. Walker; sole selector, Mr L. T. Cobcroft/delegates to the Wairarapa Rugby Union, Messrs Hender-j son, Kendall and Howie. It was decided that a deputation wait on the Pukio Football Club with a view to amalgamation, and forming a senibr team. A Vote of thanks to the retiring officers, and to Mr Mclvor for fencing wire, was passed. • ■ The President expressed the hope that the Club would maintain the reputation enjoyed last season as to the conduct of players both on and off the field of play, and that the best traditions of the Liberal Football j Club would be upheld. .. EKETAHUNA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Eketahuna Club was held on Thursday evening in Mr T. Bedding's meeting room, Mr, W. Green presiding over a very good attendance of members and others interested. The balance-sheet presented showed a debit balance pf 2s Id. The secretary reported that £ll had been spem in the purchase of jerseys and about £6 was owing on the re-sale of them, there being a number in arrears. Several subscriptions were outstanding, and it was hoped this would not be the case in the ensuing year. i The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr F. C. Tumor (re-elected) ; president, Mr P. Ross; vice-presi-dents, Messrs H. M. McKenzie and W. Futlon; secretary and treasurer, :Mr C. H. Parsons; captain, J. Dunean; management-committee, P. Ross, J. Hughes and S. Gooding-; selection !committee, J. Hughes/. Hooper and Smeaton; delegates to Union, P. Ross, W. Eagle and T. M. Page. The subscription was fixed at 5s for both junior and senior members. It was decided to enter a senior and a punior team, the same as last year.
