WELLINGTON, Last Night' Two members of the British Davis Cup team, who are touring New Zealand, played a singles match with New Zealand players at Wellington this afternoon. The English players were Major A. H. Lowe and Capt. A. E. Beamish, and the New Zealand players matched with them were Geoffrey Olliver (New Zealand champion) and J. C. Peacock (ex-champion). Both the New Zealand representatives were beaten quite decisively, but neither of them was disgraced. Peacock was beaten in two straight sets by Lowe, but the second set ran to 9 —7, and Olliver won the middle set from Beamish, 6 —l. • DAVIS CUP.RE-DRAW. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.)
