MASTERTON'S HIGH SCHOOL
RESOLUTION BY COUNCIL
At last night's meeting of the Masterton Borough Council, Cr. Henderson moved that the Government be offered several rooms at a free rental in the Municipal Buildings for the purpose of immediately commencing the High School classes. The Mayor: "I do not think that would quite meet the case. We should pass a resolution urging the. Government to erect the building 3. The best accommodation that can at present be had is being utilised, and I do not think the scheme you suggest would be advantageous." Cr. Henderson: "We want to show the Government that we are in earnest regarding the matter. I think we should stir them up somewhat." The Mayor: "I agree with you, but that would not be the best way to do it."
Cr. Henderson's motion lapsed for want of a seconder.
On the motion of his Worship, the Council decided to urge the Government to at once proceed with the work of erecting Masterton's High School.
