CIVIL SERVANTS' NOMINEE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Last Night. A deputation from the Otago Public Servants waited on Mr. H. R. Spence, Collector of Customs, to-day, to ask if he would be prepared to accept nomination in the event of the Government providing for a nominee from the Public Service for the position of Assistant Public Service Commissioner. Mr. Spence, who has had long experience in the service in New Zealand, and was recently on the' staff of the High Commissioner's Office in London, agreed to nomination.
