ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
YOUNG MAN SHOOTS HIMSELF.
A man named Tracey Pipe, aged forty-four years, attempted {.suicide at the house of Mrs Carlson Ch s sister) at Kaituna on Saturday evening. The man, who is a returned soldier, had been acting somewhat queerly of late. On Saturday he purchased a revolver and discharged a bullet into his right temple. Dr. Baird, of Masterton, was summoned, and ordered the man's removal to the hospital. An unsuccessful attempt was made to remove the bullet. The man was conscious last night, but little hope was entertained for his recovery. His mother resides in Wellington. Upon inquiry at the hospital at ag early, hour this morning we wero informed that the condition of the patient was little changed. , He was reported to have been conscious at i times.
