The friends and supporters of the lpbal Baptist, Church will regret to hear that the Baptist Union has reluctantly decided ;'W suspend operations in Mr.sterton for the time being, owing to financial • stringency. The-..following resolution was placed on record, at ./their meeting on the •IQtlirinst':,' when tn« matter was decided: "The Committee of the Centra] Auxiliary of the Baptist Union desire to placje. on record its Appreciation of the service rendered by Pastor E. Swinerd and Mrs Swinerd at Masterton during the past two and a half years. Amidst many adverse circumstances his" labomrs in Sunday School and Church have been indefatigable. Special mention should be made of his untiring zeal in collecting money for the site purchased during his ministry. It is with regret that the Committee finds it impossible to continue, the work, for the time being, and sincerely hopes that some suitably sphere of" service may be opened up for him wherever his Christian activities may find ample scope."
