Mr A. R. Maltby, ■ of Mastertpn, received advice yesterday that hifi horse First Consul was seriously in-jured-by a motor car when on the way to Palm'erston racecourse yesterday, and was, unable to start m the Cup race. , The success of the locally owned and trained Sir Solo, in the- Auckland Oup haa gone a step further in raising the reputation of the Wairarapa, which has" this year put up a wonderful record in the direction of sports. That the two big racmg handicaps of New Zealand have come to the Wairarapa this year would indicate that this district is "holding its' own in the racing world. Mr Dorset, the owner of Sir Solo, and Mr Garrett, the trainer, are to be congratulated m landing such a s coup. . / J
